The Spirit of the Position:

The Sr. Manager, Talent Development, reports to the SVP of People & Culture and is responsible for leading the execution of LAZ Parking’s national talent development strategy.  S/he is a key influencer who is the spark and the energy behind the initiatives that support (the first part of) our mission to create opportunities for employees. The person in this role enthusiastically infuses the company’s people-first message into every interaction, program, event and experience s/he facilitates, creates and delivers.  S/he is primarily responsible for designing, developing and delivering learning and organizational development programs, classes, events, experiences and initiatives. As the company’s leader of LAZ University, s/he is responsible for cultivating an internal talent pipeline through learning, coaching, developing and engaging employees across all levels of the organization. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deploy the company’s learning programs, including employee onboarding, leadership development, professional development and business-focused content.
  • Manage the ongoing execution of LAZ University’s 100s of synchronous and asynchronous classes, courses, sessions and lessons.
  • Improve the learning experience for employees across all levels by developing new content, courses, programs and sessions annually.
  • Maintain catalog of existing content and manage ongoing updates, improvements and enhancements.
  • Serve as administrator for LAZ’s talent systems, including performance management (ADP), social (TribeSocial) and learning management (Exceed).
  • Manage vendor relationships with various talent-related partners, including learning management system, virtual classroom, off-the-shelf content providers, etc.
  • In partnership with the Employee Communication Manager and vendor partners, lead the company’s storyboarding and programming process for all eLearning and video lessons for the company.
  • Host and/or facilitate LAZ University’s programs, classes, sessions, etc. both online and in person.
  • Coordinate logistics and details behind the company’s programs, classes, sessions, etc., including (but not limited to) monitoring homework assignments, following up with participants, securing hotel and restaurant reservations and supporting travel arrangements as needed.
  • Partner with regional operations and HR teams to deliver culture-focused events, including “Get Connected” and other programs as assigned.
  • Cultivate and manage a pipeline of internal talent who is ready to grow into new roles across the company.
  • Manage the implementation of various talent-related programs, such as (but not limited to) 360 assessments, pre- and post-hire assessments, engagement surveys, talent functions, diversity programs and coaching groups.
  • Coach “up and coming” talent if/as needed one-on-one and/or in groups.
  • Consult with and advise stakeholders at all levels on talent- and/or training-related opportunities, such as local/regional training programs, development plans and/or anything else related to talent that will improve the company’s internal pipeline.
  • Build relationships with operations and HR leaders to maximize influence of talent-related activities.
  • Liaise between regional HR (and operations) teams and Home Office HR leadership to drive results in developing and engaging the company’s talent.
  • Leverage people analytics and reporting to recommend strategy, programs and initiatives that will improve the internal talent pipeline.
  • Measure and evaluate the success of learning and talent programs, classes, courses and initiatives and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Travel:

  • 15 – 20%

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree in psychology, organizational development, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational leadership, instructional design or organizational behavior strongly preferred.
  • Preferred (but not required) certifications/designations: CPLP, DISC, MBTI, instructional design, performance consulting, coaching, human performance improvement, eLearning design or other training- or OD-related certification.

Experience:                            

  • 5+ years in a role in corporate training, learning and/or organizational development
  • Experience with developing eLearning (or CBTs) objects, courses or lessons (required experience is an understanding of the process, not necessarily experience with authoring, coding or programming).
  • Experience coaching and developing talent in either a training or management capacity (preferably both).
