Primary Function

 

Implements and monitors a variety of human resource programs for an A. O. Smith location, Aquasana, primarily at our Haltom City/ Fort Worth, TX location with additional HR oversight for the Austin, TX office. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management.  Also provides management of Aquasana’s EHS programs, utilizing A. O. Smith’s EHS policy and programs.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Employee Relations – Counseling, coaching, corrective action counseling and retirement counseling at all levels
  • Assists with HR functions such as compensation and benefits administration, EEP-1 and AAP oversight, local FMLA, short term disability and long term disability administration
  • Lead efforts to effectively recruit, hire, onboard, train or retrain employees, in a manner that improves overall organizational capability and builds talent pipelines.  Recruiting includes assembly, call center, and salaried roles
  • Provide employee safety and health administration for Haltom City and Austin and act as representative on the A. O. Smith global EHS counsel 
  • Champion and model the Aquasana and A.O. Smith Guiding Principles, Code of Business Ethics and Values
  • Provide effective training and development programs to increase employee capabilities and growth
  • Provide support in one or more functional HR areas, to assigned areas of company or HR discipline, including but not limited to: recruitment, student programs, employment, employee/industrial relations, benefits/payroll administration (including various types of leaves of absence), compensation, organization development, performance management, training, educational assistance, EEO/AA compliance, diversity, international assignments/immigration, relocation, special projects and record keeping
  • Lead the incident investigation process, using participative root cause analysis techniques and ensuring appropriate countermeasures are completed within a timely manner
  • Administer Workers’ Compensation reporting and medical treatment coordination
  • Event and conference planning and community relations event coordinator
  • Written communications such as authoring announcements, policies, intranet content and general correspondence
  • Develop reports as required by compliance or organizational needs

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with a concentration in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of HR Generalist level experience
  • Must be Bilingual-Spanish. Ability to Fluently speak, read and write in both Spanish and English  
  • Prior experience with Safety/EHS in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • SAP and/or Kronos and Payroll experience is preferred
  • Well versed in unemployment claims, worker’s compensation and the claims management process is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Excellent Communication Skills via written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal comfortably with all levels of management
  • Strong problem solving track record with the ability to drive to root cause
