SCOPE/CONTACTS: Responsible for the development and implementation of the Holding Company’s employment program including human resource policies, procedures and processes. Activities include oversight of staffing and recruiting, employee relations, payroll and benefit administration, employee related communications, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations and reporting requirements including Department of Labor, EEO, Wage and Hour, OFCCP, AAP, OSHA/workers comp, payroll tax reporting, etc. Supervises a staff of 12. Other contacts include executive management, holding company Presidents/CEOs, Cashiers, HR Representatives, management consultants, employment service representatives and Bank customers. Excellent communications skills are a must and the incumbent must be professional and extremely cordial, accommodating and customer focused.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Management and oversight of the following:

  • Team of 12 human resource professionals
  • Staffing and recruiting functions
  • Payroll, salary surveys and reporting
  • Benefits programs
  • Employee records and retention
  • Employee relations to include investigations and guidance on corrective action, terminations and appeals.
  • Response to unemployment claims
  • Workers Compensation
  • Policies and procedures
  • Employee giving campaigns

Must actively participate in Customer Service First sales and service culture, support the values of the organization and follow established company policies and procedures.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, management, or related and ten years progressive human resource management experience to include management of others; fifteen years human resource experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.  
  • PHR, SHRM-CP certifications required; SPHR, SHRM - SCP certifications preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of human resource management including HR and federal and state employment laws and regulations, strategic planning, recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, health and safety, employee relations, training and development
  • Excellent communication, management skills and professional demeanor are a must
  • Experience in Word and Excel is also required
  • Five years or more of financial institution experience is strongly preferred.
